We know - it´s not easy visiting a new church for the first time. Sometimes you feel like a nonmember visiting a country club. Am I really welcome? Will the people be unfriendly, or too friendly? Will I be conspicuous? Will it be easy to leave if I don´t enjoy it? Will they ask me for money? Will my kids enjoy it? How should I dress?

As lead pastor of discoverlifechurch.tv, it is very important to me that you have an enjoyable, stress-free and relaxing experience here. One of the ways I'd like to make your visit with us more enjoyable is by letting you know what to expect when you attend one of our worship experiences.

Each week our service begins promptly at 9:00 a.m & 10:30 a.m. During our services, which are normally about 75 minutes, you’ll enjoy dynamic worship through music and media and a relevant message that will both encourage and challenge you in your spiritual journey.

When you arrive at Cinemaworld (on New Haven Ave., approximately 1/2 miles east of I-95), you will park in the front parking lot where our parking lot team will welcome you, as well as some friendly people at the front doors (we call them ‘greeters’). There is signage to help you find your way in the parking lot and the other areas of the theater campus.

Our ‘greeters’ are available to answer any questions you may have regarding the worship experience or the Cinemaworld campus. They will gladly escort you to wherever you are going. If you have kids, they will show you where to take them and register them for the day’s events. Security is of the utmost importance to us. Therefore, we issue each child an ‘id’ card which only you, your child and our workers will know. If at any time during the service, your child is in need of parental assistance, the ‘id’ will flash discreetly on the projection screens in the worship experience signaling that you are needed.

You’ll notice that the majority of our attendees are dressed comfortably, in anything from "office casual" to jeans and sneakers. If you arrive early, you’re welcome to have a donut and/or a cup of coffee (self-serve near the entrance) and pick up information in the lobby area.

When you come into the worship experience, you’ll be given a Connection Card. On the ‘connection card’ you can ask for information and/or assistance. Please feel free to fill this card out during your visit and drop it in the offering at the conclusion of the worship experience.

The service normally begins with some upbeat music, followed by a welcome. Often, there will be a drama or multimedia to further explore the day’s theme. Then someone will offer a prayer, and I (or another speaker) will begin the message. I usually speak for about 30 minutes, and I do my best to make the messages interesting and relevant to daily life. At the close of the service, I always offer those in attendance the opportunity to receive Christ into their heart. Additionally, there are Partner Care Leaders ready and waiting for anyone who has special prayer needs. They are available at the end of each worship experience to spend time together with you in prayer. I also hope you’ll come up and introduce yourself to me afterwards at out "Got Questions Table".

After the worship experience, your kids will be waiting in their respective classrooms for you to check them out. It is our goal each week for them to have lots of exciting things to share with you about their learning experience. We hope that you’ll be able to stick around and meet some of the folks who attend here every week. Since one of our core values is ‘Relationships’, we’re always excited to meet new guests and share the exciting things that God is doing through discoverlifechurch.tv.

After the worship experience we welcome you to meet with the pastoral staff to ask questions about discoverlifechurch.tv and hear more about the blessing of God here. Since meeting new people can often be an intimidating task, we try to lighten things up with this informal presentation. We’ll also have a small gift to present to you as a token of our appreciation of your visit.

There’s much more to talk about and I look forward to the opportunity to speak to you in person this week. I hope you’ll feel at home. Remember … Our Future Is Bright!

Thanks for your interest.
